5 Questions with Cappuccino Afloat

Cappuccino Afloat is almost an institution at our markets in their own right!  When did you make your debut

We bought the business in July 2010 smack bang in the middle of winter!

Upbeat staff, continually entertaining but amazingly fast with a particularly strong and loyal fan base. What is the secret behind running this tightly oiled ship

Mutual respect, open door policy, communication, letting them (the staff) grow as individuals but also as part of a team.  TRUST!

Being flexible and keeping their jobs open when they go on holidays, them knowing they have a job to return to.

And the love of coffee

Highs and lows.  Lows and highs.  What would be one of the standout highs in your time at Frenchs Forest Markets?

The Lows: the weather.  When it rains in Sydney it rains harder at the markets.  The other low is our generator failing and we have no coffee to serve.  To see the disappointment on the customers faces breaks our hearts.

The Highs: growing from a 4 man show to 5.  Getting to know our customers by name even though we only see them once a week.

Out of all our markets Frenchs Forest Market has been our biggest growing.  The customers are willing to wait for their coffee considering it's soooooo busy.

We can't believe it!

When was Cappuccino Afloat "born"

Cappuccino Afloat was born on the water (Pittwater to be exact) years ago hence the name "Afloat".  However running costs necessitated to have it placed on the ground as opposed to water.

The coffee carts now travel in horse-floats where they are set up as outdoor cafes at Orange Grove & Frenchs Forest Markets.

For anyone who HASN'T been to Frenchs Forest Markets, what you say to tell them it's about time they partook in the Sunday Morning FF ritual

Eclectic markets with probably the best variety of food, produce, beverages, fashion and of course COFFEE

Feel like a boogie while you wait for your coffee then this is the place to be!  Huge thanks to Alex and the crew for not only being who they are but add a bit of madness and fun to the Sunday Morning Frenchs Forest Market ritual!

Sharing the Frenchs Forest Love with Kylie

How long ago did you discover Frenchs Forest Market?

Ummmmm, about a year ago once I moved up the road from it, so around November 2012

What is it about our markets that keeps you coming back?

The food and the little community feel. It's friendly and fun

Do you have a favourite stallie?  Why?

The bread stall run by the people from the Blue Mountains (Common Ground)....love the bread as I am gluten intolerant and love the muffins

oh and the croissants....and the coffee van guys (Cappuccino Afloat)...LOVE them!

Do you have an all time number one recipe using produce bought at our markets, or do they just keep evolving week after week?

Nah...I mostly get fruits & spinach from there AND bread rolls (single-mummy-on-limited-funds-right-now)

There are those who say it is cheaper to shop at a supermarket but what 5 words would you use to encourage them to come to Frenchs Forest Market?

TASTE THE DIFFERENCE!!!!! (seriously!  I thought the same)
